Expense Tracker

TVL's built-in expense tracker helps you stay on budget by logging every purchase and giving you a clear picture of where your money is going.

Adding an expense

1. Open your trip and click the Expenses tab
2. Click + Add Expense
3. Fill in the amount, currency, category, description, and date
4. Click Save

Expense categories

• Food — Restaurants, cafes, groceries, street food
• Transport — Flights, trains, taxis, metro
• Accommodation — Hotels, Airbnb, hostels
• Activities — Tours, museums, tickets
• Shopping — Souvenirs, clothes, gifts
• Other — Everything else

Budget overview

The Budget Card at the top of your expenses tab shows total spent, remaining budget, and a breakdown by category. Click it to set or update your trip budget.

Multi-currency support

TVL supports any currency. Each expense stores the original currency and amount. The budget overview converts everything to your home currency for reference.

Splitting expenses with collaborators

On collaborative trips, you can mark expenses as shared and TVL will calculate each person's share automatically.
