Managing Trips

Trips are the core of TVL. Every feature — itineraries, expenses, journals, boarding passes — lives inside a trip.

Trip statuses

TVL automatically tracks where each trip stands:

• Upcoming — Start date is in the future
• On Trip — You are currently within the trip dates
• Past — End date has passed

Your dashboard highlights your current active trip with a green banner and your next trip with a blue countdown banner.

Trip types

• Leisure — Vacations, city breaks, beach trips
• Business — Work travel, conferences
• Drive — Road trips with Google Maps directions integration
• Adventure — Hiking, camping, outdoor expeditions

Editing a trip

Open your trip and click the Edit icon to update the trip name, destination, dates, type, or cover image.

Collaborating on a trip

You can invite other TVL users to plan a trip together. Collaborators can view and edit the itinerary, expenses, and journal.

Deleting a trip

Go to trip settings and scroll to the bottom. Click Delete Trip. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Trip limits

• Free plan: Up to 2 active trips

Past trips do not count toward your limit.
